Ana Llurba is an Argentinian-Spanish writer, researcher and educator currently based in Brooklyn, New York. She is the author of several a works, including Este es el momento exacto en que el tiempo empieza a correr (winner of the Antonio Colinas de Poesía Joven award), Mala conciencia, the novels La puerta del cielo and Hemoderivadas, the short story collection Constelaciones familiares (winner of the Celsius Semana Negra de Gijón award and longlisted for the Premio Finestres), and the essay collections Érase otra vez. Cuentos de hadas contemporáneos, Encarnar al monstruo. Hacia una nueva imaginación especulativa, and Mapas y cicatrices.

She holds a degree in Modern Literature from the National University of Córdoba (UNC), Argentina, and two master's degrees—one in Comparative Literature and another in Publishing—from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, Spain. She was recently selected as a writer-in-residence for the UNESCO literary residency program in Krakow, Poland, and has received a research grant from the city of Berlin, Germany, in the field of non-German literature. She has also served as a teaching assistant in the Bilingual Creative Writing Program at the University of Texas at El Paso. Currently, she is pursuing her PhD at Rutgers University in New Jersey, USA. Some of her works have been translated into Portuguese, Italian, Polish, Lithuanian, German, and English.
